We just finished up our 14th game and it is absolutely fantastic. It has come down to the wire with two of us tied at 4 wins each, and a different player just scored his 3rd win, making way for a possible 3-way tie. Very intense. =D

That being said I have a scenario that seemed fairly straightforward, but could have potentially cost me the BIG win:

[o]We just opened the Alien pack on game 12, which is a massive game changer. One of the Weakness Powers that are added to the game called "Purist" states that you are never allowed to own more than 2 coin cards. The entire campaign, I have played very aggressively, always turning in resources for troops. To secure my final key victory, I was waiting to turn in 4 cards for my final red star (having already conquered 2 enemy HQs) when another player (in an unintentionally brilliant move) placed this weakness on me, forcing me to immediately discard one of my three coins.

Afterwards we discussed it, and wondered if this is how we should have proceded, or if I should have kept the card and just been forced to use it my next turn. Again, it seems pretty straightforward, but I figured I'd ask in case this unlikely scenario comes up in someone else's game.

Being on the receiving end, I honestly have to say this seems like one of the only situations I could ever think of where this Weakness really showcases its usefulness. Collectively, none of us could think of another game in which someone was ever forced to draw more than 2 coin cards, but the card was in play when it counted, and it made for one helluva great twist to the game. =D [/o]

In conclusion, I guess this is really more of a post just sharing my experience since, as I stated, it seems pretty cut and dry to me, but I felt it was worth asking just in case. In any case, wish me luck in our final game. I'm going to need it. =)
