Mostly what I mean to say is: if you've got a group of 5 that are equally committed to playing, great! A core group of 5 is probably the single best way to experience the game. But if you have a core group of 4 and another guy who's interested sometimes, that's just fine, too. The game is incredibly flexible with regards to how many players you have and how often they play, with the sole exception of the one item of customization that has no direct effect whatsoever on gameplay.
