I have a large collection of Music that spans many styles. My music tastes are very situational. My favourite band would have to be Pink Floyd. I own almost everything released by the band and the various solo projects. The music and lyrics resonate very strongly with me.
I like a lot of very bizarre and eclectic music projects and bands. I really appreciate the originality. Some that come to mind are:
Garnet Rogers (Folk) - Fantastic Story Telling in his songs and a great stage presence.
Doug & The Slugs - Best bar band I have ever seen. The had a magic about their stage show that made them a lot of fun to see and listen to.
Basil Poledoris - Powerful soundtracks for Conan the Barbarian and The Hunt for Red October. Really enjoy the feel and theme of his music.
Sarah Brightman - I am not much of a fan of opera, but I like the operatic range of Sarah Brightman's voice.
Mike Olfield - I very much enjoy the project Tubular Bells. I also enjoy the progression of his stylings with the follow on projects Tubular Bells II, & III
Boston - The clean crisp guitar sounds of Boston is still very much an enjoyment to me after all of these years. First two albums are best.
Alice Cooper - The dark humor of Alice Cooper was fun to listen to growing up. I still enjoy an occasional listen.
Andrea Vollenweider - Electro-Acoustic Harp (Enough said).
Vangelis - Ethereal and evocative.
Robert Cray Band - Tight blues guitarist and vocalist.
Dire Straits - Love Mark Knopfler's guitar work.
Moby - Really enjoy some of his songs for ambient background sound.
Tangerine Dream - Great soundtrack for a day drinking tea and reading.
Deep Dark Woods - Dark theme, folky. Very enjoyable
Alan Parson's Project - Great volume of work with many interesting songs to discover
Kraftwerk - These guys were so ahead of their time.
Elsiane - Very bizarre and unique sounding vocals.
I could go on and on. I love music. We have music playing in our house almost constantly. I will stop listing bands and artists here as I coule probably ramble on and on for hours.
