I myself am a game designer and programmer. I have every ability to make a fully functional Risk Legacy for the widows desktop (NOT 8 METRO VIEW) where 2-4 players join a host game using the host's IP. The host would store all the campaign data for the long term including packs, faction cards what whats applied where, etc.

This would not be super flashy graphics, but it would get the job done. It can also include several popular "house rules" and the alternative designer-made score system to use optionally.

Do you think it would be a good idea to pursue the licencing from Hasbro to make such software for distribution? Alternatively, does anyone know how generic I would have to go if i wanted to avoid asking Hasbro for legal licencing yet still distributing said software?

Also would you people use this software?

Think about it, instead of a PBF game taking Months to complete you can do it in a few weeks if you play an online game daily.

I could write out all the code for this in a few months while I'm not in school over the summer.
