3. You never track the amount of damage you do to monsters unless the haunt tells you to, and the trait values of monsters never change unless the haunt tells you they do. In the evil twin haunt, the Special Attack Rules explain what happens when you defeat an Evil Twin: you stun or kill it.4. Any effect that happens when you "defeat" a monster can happen when you're defending (unless it explicitly says you have to be attacking). By default, that's just stunning the monster.
