After about 5 hours, I'm done! A couple of thoughts now I'm done....I decided to cover the board in sticky-back plastic all over (Tenza Tech "Cover Clear" to be precise). Although the Cricut does peel on and off the board, I was still too scared about how it might peel off if a campaign had lasted several months....especially with the board getting folded and "sandwiching" them in! It was a pain to do, and its not that shiny. The other reason I did it was
[o]so that I could draw on - and wipe off - the sea routes for Alien Island and the "new sea route" mission[/o]
All the sticker were put on Cricut, then cut out - I wish I'd left a larger border (2-3mm instead of the 1mm I left), as when peeling its too easy to peel the sticker, and not the Cricut. But not a big deal.
I laminated all the cards that required things peeled on and off - so territory cards, events, and missions. I sleeved those cards, which was 109 sleeves total. I didn't sleeve things like War Progresses cards.
[o]With the mutants, I rubbed off ALL the silver on the faction, and on the two event cards. I then covered the four power descriptions (leaving the symbols showing) and the symbols on the cards, with good old Cricut - that way I can replay mutants as well. Interestingly, when doing so I discovered I had got two "brain/brawn" event cards in my set, and no "offence/defence" card - fortunately I was able to steal one from a completed game, but this was a "plus" for the reusable version - if we'd been playing properly we'd have had to stop mid-game and wait a couple weeks for a replacement card, if we'd been doing it properly![/o]
Factions I covered in the same Cover Clear, front and back.
I feel really pleased that I did this - looking forward to the first of many replays!
Oh - and:
[o]I opened and sleeved the Do Not Open cards - and then I added the cards from another game, so there is now a choice of 2 sets of reuseable Do Not Opens to use.....or maybe both in one game![/o]
