This is what I used the shelf boxes for... always meant to start a thread about this on heroscapers back in the day, promoting my "HeroScape Caddy".
This one is pretty beat up from lots of use, but they look a lot better when they are fresh and new.
Basically, folded down the tall part, made a few nips and tucks, painted a little black on the sides, added felt to the inside bottom, and voila! a nice little caddy for your dice, figs, markers, etc. ...and a good place to roll the dice.
