Hi guys, we just played our 3rd game of Legacy, and I won I've lucked out and been in Australia twice so far, and already have a major city on Western Australia, there's a minor city on Eastern Australia, and a bunker on Indonesia. My initial plan was to win this game and put a major city on New Guinea, thereby locking down Australia for me, at least for a short while.

Then, right as I was finishing the game I got the 30+ troops packet and...

[o]Aliens! I was a bit disappointed I got the Aliens at the end, but they're pretty sweet. So now I'm faced with the choice of where to put Alien Island.

My initial reaction after reading the Alien Island material is to place it connecting Western to Eastern Australia, and found a Major City on it, thereby solidifying my grip on Australia, and giving me a crazy advantage if I ever get the Alien faction and Australia.

My good friend is of the opinion that this would be a boring use of Alien Island, and wouldn't add anything to the game. He wants to create a simulated Antarctica using Alien island and the water way to connect South America, Africa, and Australia to Alien island (which would become "antarctica").

I get what he's saying, and I'm even tempted to put alien island connecting Africa to North America to shake things up. But above all, I want to dominate this world and name it, and in my mind I have a good chance at doing that by using Australia. So, what would you do in my position? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
