This is a thing i wonder from about two years....

What about a geeklist listing "3D SKirmish" ruleset, comparing the by mechanics?
I mean: if i would like to add three games I'll write in the geekitem:

A modern warfare game
Type of game:
# Players: 2-8, 2 or 3 Factions
Co-op: Only between factions
A.I.: No: Very hard to House Rule intelligent opponents
Faction build: Completly free, payd with resources
Average number of figures/units: 12-16 / 4

Mechanics:
Turn system: I go you go
Player Initiative: Dice roll + Resources
Unit Activation: Automatic
Attack: 1 single roll, Bonuses adds dice. Count 4+ as hits vs fixed number.
Vehicles/Mounts: Yes,
Fog of War: Units must be have been spotted to be targets
Other: Strategic zones grants more resources. Rules implements Cover, Suppression, Morale, abstract Air support.

A zombie game
Type of game:
# Players: 2, 2 factions
Co-op: No
A.I.: No. It could be easy to house-rule the Zombie behaviour
Faction build: Point System
Average number of figures/units: 20 / -

Mechanics:
Turn system: I go you go, interruptable
Player Initiative: Total of "Level" of his leaders figures
Unit Activation: Roll against Morale, turn end if fail.
Attack: Multiple rolls, Bonuses adds to die result. Roll to hit vs Fixed number, roll to damave vs roll to save, crits rolls for damage allocation.
Vehicles/Mounts: No
Fog of War: No.
Other: Rules implement Hard Cover, Soft Cover...

A Fantasy game
Type of game:
# Players: 2-4, 2 factions
Co-op: Yes
A.I.: Yes. The rules implement opponents behaviour
Faction build: Point System
Average number of figures/units: 15 / 5

Mechanics:
Turn system: Alternated
Player Initiative: Roll at the begin of the game
Unit Activation: alternated 2 units per player
Attack: Single roll vs Defense roll, cross the result in a table.

Vehicles/Mounts: Yes
Fog of War: No.
Other: Rules implement measured or gridded movement. Height (hills, flying figure) is not a factor.

Now, what i mean with all this all blabbing is to have your feedback of old grogn.... cough! ... experienced player:
- Would you think it could be useful? Someone want to play a skirmish, he knows what it likes and what not, go there and see what seems to be the right choice....
- What you'll include as detailed point? So to have the best coherency possible between entries?
- Would you like to contribute with the game you already know, so that list could have some meat from the start?

:)
