Cool idea, but do you have any rules laid out for character generation, battle scenario construction, etc? I know it's still early on, so this stuff is still in the developmental stages...

Yeah we are still really early in the development stage (started about three weeks ago). As far as characters... I'm working on a basic set of characters which will be included with the game. If you want to create your own characters and plug them into the game then you would assign that character attributes within the games framework (attack, defense, abilites, ect). As far assigning points to a character... it would just be trial and error.

The game will come with a lot of the same mechanics as Heroscape (line of site, height advantage, attack and defense rolling, turn markers, terrain movement penalties and bonuses, ect...), and then we are also planning on throwing in some new elements of our own. The player will then be able to go in and select the options they want to play with.

So here is an example: Let's say you wanted to create a "Quick Play Scenario". You could go to the "Roll for initiative" option and select the "Roll at the beginning of the game" option rather than the "Roll at the beginning of each round" option. You could then go to the "turn markers" option and adjust them down so that players would alternate every turn rather than placing turn markers. You would then be able to save those setting and use them again if you wanted to. This will give the players the options to set the game up for Heroscape style rules if that is what they want to play with.

For battle scenarios we want to have elimination, capture the flag, map domination, tower siege, and stuff like that. Since we are building the game engine ourselves we can really add just about anything we want. Right now we are working on getting the map builder up. The images I posted were some shots of the terrain types we have added so far.
