I have the first edition, which may be different to yours. Also, I'm answering from memory and my recollection mayb be faulty.
1. You can move up to your speed (so less than your speed is fine). You don't have to move at all if you don't want to.
2. To trade, the two characters performing the trade must be in the same room when the trade happens. You can give as many items as you like to the character you are trading with and take as many as that character is willing to give you. Neither of you has to receive anything in return and there is no movement cost for giving items to other characters. You can't both use an item and give it away in the same turn - you have to choose one or the other. You can also drop an item, placing an item pile marker in the room to show where it is. Again, you can't use it and then drop it - you have to choose one or the other. Also, you can't give an item away during the same turn in which you received it.
3. I'm not sure about this one, but I think the mystic slide takes you different places depending on a dice roll doesn't it? Keep the event card out and refer to it each time someone enters the room. Different people will likely wind up in different rooms after using the slide.
