As for custom figures, I respect where those folks are coming from but I very much agree with the tourney's decision to not include them. Like I say, I don't normally do tourneys, but the last one I went to did allow them...sadly I and many other players only found that out after arriving....only the "approved" ones you mention (plus the supers for some matches), but still it was a mess. The whole issue of whether or not people have to have the specific exact figure involved on the card and/or put it on an official HS base or not reared its head. And it actually does matter....luckily I didn't have to play against any of the customs but some of the guys that did were pissed off. Apparently one guy had his on bases that were "too high" and another guy's bases were "too wide" and on and on. The high guy could have his figures "see" a little further than normal as a result of the thicker base he used...the wide guy could apparently deny certain placements because of the way his figure came off the base, even though he legit was not the type of jerk to being doing that with intention. It was just stupid all around and I like the hassle free "no customs" rule. Puts everyone on the same playing field and nobody has to scramble to cut/paint/find all these assorted things and make sure they fit specific guidelines.↧
