Thanks for the help!

I just tried it. Went with Joyce, Hopper and Nancy. Still failed, because the dogs kept annoying me. Do you think I should make some character changes?

Another thing, I went through the rules again and it has 2 things contradicting each other. Regarding confrontational actions (being fights, allies, vines, lab, Will, Eleven and gate, correct?), it once says, if you fail you have to increase fear by value difference, and on the next page it says you increase fear by 1, if you fail. So help me understand how it really is, please.

I found 3 or 4 times where it repeated that if you fail you have to increase fear by value difference. I looked carefully for somewhere that said you increase fear by 1, if you fail, but found no such passage. (Where did you see that?) The only thing that came close was shuffling the tokens in the stack and then removing one to return to the face down token pool.

Season 2 is a difficult challenge. Whilst reading the rules, the places where it said you had to fight a foe for your turn's action if there is one in your location. I am wondering if I ignored that rule during my 2 wins for Season 2? I do remember Demodogs showing up as a result of 1 or 2 Scene cards, when they were not near the character taking the current turn during their action phase, but showing up during Reveal Scenes is okay since the action phase was already done. And I do remember fighting Demodogs, and also moving away from them when starting a turn in their location.

Joyce, Hopper and Nancy should be a good combo. Did you immediately use Joyce and Hopper to Rescue Will without allies or items, and have Nancy stay one turn at Main Street to get 1 good item to use at the Laboratory? There are 4 great Laboratory items, so the odds are favorable! Clearing a stack or two at the Laboratory to allow using Danger action cards to Rescue Will seems to be a really solid initial strategy, and all the rest of the game action should wait until Will has been Rescued.

Good luck and I will await further play reports from you!
