Here's what they wrote on March 13th on kickstarter about tariffs on tmnt. Bear in mind this was a few weeks ago when tariffs were 20% and not 100+Finally, you've probably heard a lot of talk about tariffs lately. I have strong personal opinions about the whole situation, but this isn't the place to discuss that. I do want to mention that (despite some public narratives to the contrary) they are very much affecting us. We manufacture our games in China. (Without getting into a whole separate conversation, suffice it to say that it is literally impossible to make this game in the United States.) When those games hit the warehouse in the United States, we will pay the tariff. As of right now, that's 20%.
We will get a separate line item on our import bill for that charge. Of course, this charge is not something we were able to plan for when we launched the campaign. Part of the issue is that the rollout has been rather chaotic. We have no idea the tariff will be when they actually hit the port. The administration might well decide to double them. Who knows? We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust accordingly. Of note, they might ultimately affect the retail price when the game is released later.
However, while this is a major challenge for us, I want to reassure all of you that it will not affect your pledge in any way. We will not be asking for additional funds
