Thread: Heroscape: Master Set – Age of Annihilation:: General:: Which is preferred: Tight terrain connections or loose?

My one gripe about Heroscape terrain is that some of the tolerances are off just enough that it's hard to connect some pieces and harder to pull them apart.

Would gamers prefer connections that are tight enough that they can pick up assembled pieces without any falling away or a bit looser such that they'll stay connected on a table, but may not be stable when lifted?

I'd prefer the latter where the assembled map is stable on a table such that sections won't come apart while playing, but might be a bit iffy when trying to pick them up. Ideally, it would be nice to have both. Gamers with the original terrain are finding that taking apart a map can sometimes result in pieces breaking due to becoming more brittle with age. Since the purpose is having modular terrain, I want something that doesn't come with a risk of breaking when I want to make a new map. Building vertically results in a stable terrain while still being easy to change.
