I have received my pre-order for Frontline. On May 3rd I'm going to play the mars +phobos moon boards for 4 player. I'll live stream it on twitch, link will be provided. I'll also post pics and video link on reddit... r/risk2210 (Opening_Clock2722)As everyone here knows, I designed my own custom expansion for Risk 2210 (AVP edition). I expanded the moon board to an entire map, and adopted other peoples concept for the north/south poles. This frontline expansion adds a deck of tech cards, giant amoeba AI turns, and new locations, however I think they adopted a very immature stage of this games potential.
I very recently finished updating to incorporate mars. I am very very close to releasing all files for my AVP game. the latest revision (650 cards of roughly 1800 total).. will allow anyone to mix and match the game boards and play with aliens and predators.. I also have mayhem, relic, and adv tech cards.. but the mechanics are very specific and not yet canon.
TL;DR The risk 2210 front line expansion is really only worth acquiring the game boards. The Tech cards are 4 copies of 4 cards. all the cards describe very simple, uninspiring actions like 4 cards that say 1 MOD on 3, or 4 cards that say 3 MODs on one territory. It doesnt add any additional MODs or space stations, so if you were to play Eart+Mars, you will likely not have enough units unless playing 5 players. The cards are the same size as the base Risk 2210, very small with no available sleeves that you can buy.
I would recommend everyone consider adopting my version of Risk 2210 command decks and play with the more varied abilities. I created a lot of units, but they dont have to be 3d printed, cardboard tokens can surfice, or remove those aspects since I have 40 cards in each deck and easy to filter out.
Heres a pic of what I added. I also had to create territory reference cards for all locations. all may cards are printed at 57x89mm so they can be sleeved.
