Elder One often does go down easily - when scenarios are challenging, it's usually around the ritual disruption taking too long, or sanity tracks getting too close to the end, meaning you go insane before you can roll all those big handfuls of dice to kick the Elder one around.Nug and Yeb are also a step-up, given you need to defeat both of them three times; that's 72 damage you need to land, not 36.
I love a challenging co-op, and despite some easy victories I'm not sure my win rate in DMD is overly high, but I mostly enjoy this game because it always has a nice "epic" progression towards the end. I'm enjoying one Unknown Monster and no relics as my preferred difficulty level at the moment. Two Unknown Monsters adds more challenge, but can sometimes leave you wading through a LOT of plastic to get things done, and whilst the puzzle element of how to deal with that makes the game even tougher, it also means it's no longer the "fun romp" I value from the game. Two Unknown Monsters + Relics is alright, but I'm really not enjoying how incredibly overpowered the relics become in the late game, overshadowing what the investigator skills are doing even, so I'm not sure I'm going to keep using them.
