Hah, you definitely do NOT need 200 colors X) I'm doing my part to try to drill in the point that improvement doesn't require those kinds of investments! But I also completely understand the siren's call of seeing a big box of every color imaginable.

I'll reiterate this point, Basilisk. I appreciate you pointing out that some weather is bad for spray-priming. Otherwise, I don't think rattle can primer is a big ask for folks. Shaking them up and blasting until they're covered is pretty easy/fast, which is the goal I'm going for here. Most people can easily have a spare slab of a box/cardboard to prevent it from being messy.

Brush primer is very economical yes, but brushing on primer can actually take longer than a single-color quick-painting process itself. Slathering on a wash/quick paint will have it flow into crevices for you, while primer is deliberately sticky and will completely miss spots if you don't get every millimeter covered. I started the hobby with brush priming, and it was indeed very cheap, but the significant time commitment and more inconsistent results have led to me abandoning it.

So if saving every $ is more important than time saved, yes, brush primer will last you forever. If time saved is worth a few more bucks, spray primer is a godsend to me.
