Fun outweighs balance in my book... sound like neat ideasto make the jeep a bit harder to get / use, some thoughts to consider:
- maybe position the jeep on a far side of the island to make it a detour to reach it
- consider having the keys to the jeep be one of the treasure tokens (the cardboard ones scattered around the island), so you would need to find the keys before you can drive it (or the keys could be a souvenir card)
- The jeep doubles your movement, BUT you MUST move the full number of spaces, you can't stop part way through a move
- driving over a bridge makes the bridge collapse immediately (and you crash) (maybe you drop the keys at the space before the bridge, and the jeep ends up at the bottom of the river / chute under the bridge)
- driving into a cave makes you crash (maybe the jeep stays at the entrance and the keys end up at another cave entrance (roll to see where).. you would have to wait until you next turn to use the cave on foot (or that cave entrance becomes unusable until someone moves the jeep again?)
For the Helicopter...
- maybe make the fast travel eat up a turn to make it a bit less powerful?
- call it with the card, and board it... but then you move off the board, and cannot land on the new square until your next turn?
- a bit of risk to using it... you have to roll a die when boarding to see if you drop a treasure while taking off or not? (low number means you leave a treasure on the space you boarded.. .have to drop a big one first if you have one... high number means you manage to hold on to everything you were carrying)
