Awesome Thilo, I hope you've enjoyed the results! Yes, similar to the point above about Color out of Space, investigators tend to have a lot of coats, suits, dresses etc. that aren't quite the same as furs, pocked flesh, spikes, boils and other stuff that easily get the effect. I'd definitely agree that despite that, it's better than the original untouched mini. I can see the potential for needing a long-bristled brush on some... I haven't painted most in this box to confirm. But hopefully most cheap craft store brush bundles would have a small one that fits the bill.

Congrats on already working in other colors and details on the eyes! That's the kind of stuff that adds extra layers of fun to the process. One of the simplest things I can recommend if you want to slightly improve upon the minis done this way... after drying, do a second layer/coat of the wash/paint you used, but focus on some specific areas instead of 'all over'. Examples would be armpits, undersides of appendages, inner legs, necks etc... stuff that would be more "in the shadows" will look more like that with additional wash/quick-paint. I'm not the arbiter of what's good painting or not, but in my case above, their right cheeks, right collarbones, shins, and insides of their arms all have additional wash to add some extra menace.

Bonus points, washes/quick paint layers are very thin, so if you wash it one day and ultimately want to paint over it, there's absolutely no harm to the mini in doing so. The completed Ghasts of mine above did something similar, using acrylic paints over that first layer of quick-paint/wash to make the effect I want. Some mini painters even order pre-shaded minis AND paint over them... not something I do personally. Regardless, there should be minimal concern you're "ruining" them even if it doesn't turn out perfect.

Thanks for reading and best of luck as you keep improving your games! =)
