I only play competitively. It's $100 for six new heroes, plus the option and pieces to play cooperatively if I suddenly have the urge to do so. That's the same cost as the six Witcher heroes, and not incomparable to buying six Marvel ones. So it's not at all out of line with the price of other sets. Plus I get the alt art cards, which won't go to retail, meaning if I don't like them I can eBay them for profit a couple of years later to someone who missed out.
The only way to see this as extortionate is if you include the price of the extra minis.... but there's really no reason to buy those. They add zero to gameplay. I get that some people have their reasons for buying them, but you don't lose anything in gameplay by doing so, so for $100.— the same price as the two Witcher sets combined — you get six heroes, stuff to make it cooperative, and something to sell for profit down the line.
