Having introduced this game to many people over the years, I would NOT pre-build armies. Half the fun of this game is picking what you want to play. All I do with new players is give them the slight nod or minor advice (if they want it) as to what goes with what...and not even in a pushing way...just a "Obviously you don't have time to read all the cards, but if you like that guy, these guys here and here are designed to bond or enhance him in blah de blah way, if you care about that at all. Not a requirement though." And if they clearly don't want that bit of info, I don't offer it again. The few times I tried to do pre-builds failed utterly, even when I did generally agreed upon great armies. People like to pick their teams! Give them the freedom to do so, even if they hang themselves...they laugh, they learn, they come back and crush you next game because they feel like they are in control. They will have more fun if they get the chance to pick whatever crazy combo their imagination can come up with. Robots and dinosaurs? Okay! Army men and Ninjas? Why not? Orcs and Greeks? Sure!
