When I've read reviews for Betrayal at House on the Hill one of the negative comments I saw repeated was that the "black plastic arrows" that attach to the character cards do not stay in place and don't even really clearly point to the statistic in question.
One fix I've seen on the Betrayal AHOTH forum is using rubberized paperclips.
Well, I finally got my own copy of the game, and the black plastic arrows do suck, but I think I have a better solution that I didn't see in the forum.
Mini or Small Binder Clips.

These clearly show what the stat is, stay in place, and do not damage the character card.
I got my box of 50 small "up&up" binder clips from the office supply section of Target for $2.
There are 6 character cards with 4 stats each. So if you can find another BAHOTH owner to split a box of binder clips with you, you can upgrade your games clips for $1.
