Good job, Drew. As a former English prof I can't help responding! I recently spent a lot of money on Betrayal Legacy, and my group's experience with it thus far has been satisfactory. I think we're four sessions in. So far, the legacy elements are definitely interesting, but this version does not in our (admittedly limited) experience eliminate the frustrations that Betrayal is notorious/beloved for. We try to view them as part of the fun.

It may be that later editions of the base game are more balanced, but I don't have experience with those. I know there are some house rules out there that involve stacking the room tile pile to affect the timing of the haunt.
