Actually, that raises a second (interesting) rule question we had, though we wound up agreeing on this one: the dog doesn't seem to be required to drop an item, meaning they can be carrying an item at the end of their owner's turn. If that *is* the case, it would mean that the dog could "hold" the spray for the traitor and make it impossible for anyone to steal it back (since the dog doesn't participate in combat and can't take damage). Of course, that itself would lead to an unwinnable situation, so we assumed there was something wrong with that (such as the dog not being able to have an item at the end of its turn). Any clarification on that?
Looking back on the card, I never noticed that but you're totally right. If you wanted to get into a debate about it, strictly speaking it never says anything about the dog and its inventory, but personally I would side the way you guys did in regards to the Dog not being able to end its turn with an item (aka, something like the "Dog cannot end its turn with an item" or the "Dog drops all items it is carrying at the end of players turn"). Im willing to bet that there was just too much text on the card as it is and that rule was either just implyed or missed.

Regardless though, it was certainly a very fun session. We've been having a great time with this game so far--the stories are spectacularly fun, and no one seems to care about "winning."
Yeh im lucky enough to play with people who are invested enough to play and have strategy, but easy going enough to not let potholes derail the game just to argue a point. Its the best and worst thing about this game (how broad the stories can get) so sometimes it works great, sometimes its a mess. I feel like you kind of need to have a less critical "rules" mindset going into playing or else you'll end up getting stuck with an arguing group and a bad play session.
There are have only really been 1 or 2 times where we kind of had to scratch our head and really stop the game to figure things out, but it's always been less about the winning and more about the enjoyment of the random scenarios this game puts you in anyway =).
