Update. I played my first 6 player game with each player controlling two cars. We played with the Big Rig and Final Five, Choppe Shoppe, and Carnage at Devil's Run expansions.

I, having played this game 3 times before, controlled the Big Rig with only two of the miniature pieces and the middle section permanently disabled. One player, who played this game once before, controlled the Final Five with 4 motorcycles. The rest were first time players taking control of two cars with crew leaders and car upgrades.

The game ran 1 hour 25 minutes not including teach and setup/cleanup time. This was a good length for us. Couple observations:
- With only 2 cars per player, a player can get eliminated a little early due to bad luck. This happened to one player before any cars made it to the third tile
- This was the first game I played where the winner won due to being the last car standing. It was epic
- I think maybe 3 motorcycles for the Final Five player is better balanced than 4, even with cars having the Choppe Shoppe upgrades. Two motorcycles were ahead of the pack for most of the game. One even made it 1 space away from the goal but an unlucky Quake from another player caused the motorcycle to hit a hazard mine
- With only 2 sections, the Big Rig wasn't as fast as I've seen other people say in some threads. However, it felt like their strength lied in their ability to repair. It always felt like an intimidating threat coming from behind-ish. The Big Rig was second to last player to survive, the Quake caused them to take damage and a chopper finished them off. (I was gonna win otherwise, aarrgg!)

Overall, the game was a hitv for everyone. If you're looking for a shorter game, I think the 2 cars variant worked pretty well. Cheers.
