I have won 6 out of the available 12 games we have played on my board, always with a full capacity game.

The strategies I tend to use go something like this:

Whenever possible, always take an action that will either gain you a physical red star token or will prevent an opponent gaining a red star token. Remember, nobody can take these back off you!

I tend to win because I hold my HQ, buy a star token and then I only have to complete a mission or attack another opponent or two to gain the victory.

As was said earlier in the posts, if there is a chance of victory, and that % chance is grater than 0%, you must take it!

Be very aware of the implications of rules. I cannot stress this enough, but the amount of times I have had success because my opponents did not see the full implications of a faction power, a scar or other rule is very high and it has made a difference.

Whenever possible, go after population. If you have an event deck, it tends to favour population quite a lot.

Linked to population, lay a city trap. I tend to leave a weak set of troops just the other side of an empty city to encourage my opponents to get greedy and lose troops expanding into a city. This allows me to go back in the following turn and pick off the city without cost of troops in most situations.

There are some other good strategies but they will not work until other packets have been opened in your game. Have you downloaded/printed the German expansion as this can add some interesting variations to your games?
