We allow lying. You can totally lie about how many coins you have if you'd like (we all saw how many you picked up each turn). You can lie about not cashing in next turn, or lie about an alliance. But again, if you lie in a game, then no one will trust you in following games. Because of this fact we very rarely have anyone lying.

You can't lie about objectively know information though: how many coin cards you have, what your sticker powers do, how many star tokens you have, rule governance, or recruiting troop numbers etc. The only things you can lie about are things you have the option of doing on your turn.
