Squads do not need to stay grouped. Some figures will benefit from being next to each other, but only if the card says so (like being next Thorgrim, for example).Correct. After you move, if you can't roll attack dice, you're done.
You know, I've never bothered to play the basic game. The game truly comes into it's own in the advanced game where you use the Order Markers. Can anyone answer?
You can move up to the value listed on the card. So you don't have to move at all to satisfy the move portion of your turn.
Counterstrike: In a normal combat turn, the attacker rolls their attack dice and the defender rolls their defense dice. If more skulls from the attacker is rolled than shields from the defender, then the difference equals wounds taken by the defender. But with counterstrike involved, it's possible for the defender to cause wounds to the attacker while rolling defense dice. This happens only when more shields than skulls are rolled, and again, the difference is applied. So if you roll three attack dice and roll only one skull and I roll five defense dice and roll three shields, you apply two wounds of damage to the unit doing the attacking.
