My friend and I used to play first edition, with just the two of us. We would start with two characters each, and whoever was the traitor would give up the second character to the other player or kill the second character. We thought it balanced the game to allow the traitor to kill one of the good guys at the beginning of the haunt, if he chose. It gave the traitor a slight advantage but was more balanced than before. The traitor should have a slight advantage, heh heh.
